Canany
r/ /// Acting Division Direttor
Re: Currier Gravel Pit, Permit No. M-1980-203, TR-Ol Approval.
Deaz Merial:
This Office has reviewed Currier Gravel Pit, Inc. request for a Technical Revision changing the above
referenced permitted site from fully active to intermittent status. The basis for this request as staff
understands it is to keep the permit active for possible use by Mesa County and the U:S. Forest for road
repair projects in the azea. TR-Ol is approved and the permit is considered as intermittent in nature.
Intermittent status by definition in CRS 34-32.5-103(11)(b) is less than 180 days per yeaz of activity.
Currier Gravel is still required to file annual reports and maintain the site in a safe, stable manner. All
other portions of the approved permit aze still in effect and unchanged. If conditions change and more
than 180 days of activity are encountered the permit must be reactivated to full active status.
An update of the reclamation bond based on current condition was prepared. Currier Gravel s bond of
$6345.00 is adequate at this time.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Minerals and Geology, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no.
970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
~~. ~~~~~
G.
