Box 310
San Luis, CO 81152
~PR1319~
Divfsfon of fvffnefa~s 8 ~~ow9Y
12 April 1993
Dear Alana,
I have enclosed a detailed summary of the expenses to date for the third-arty monitoring
at the San Luis Project. As you can see, the total of labor costs, mi cellaneous (fax,
telephone, postage, xerox, FedEx) and travel expenses is $9,562.34. I belibve the total for
each trip (not including laboratory costs) will be approximately $4,23. This amount
includes `26 hours of field and travel time/sampling; `5 hours to evaluate the data and
write the report; `4 hours of phone calls to the lab, DMG and B I (total labor
`$3,850); '$35.00 in miscellaneous (as described above); and '-350.00 ' travel expenses
(car rental, gas, lodging and meals). The biggest difference between the on 'nal budget and
the amounts described above is travel time to and from the site (and to pick up bottles and
deposit samples at the laboratory) and time in the field.
If there are six trips, I estimate that the total RCG costs (excluding laboratory costs) will be
`$25,410. This represents an increase of `$10,000 over the original bu~get of $15,488.
This letter constitutes a request for a change order to the original contra t, based on the
increased cost for performing third-party monitoring due to an underestima ton of the travel
time and time in the field. Please review the attached budget breakdown a d the estimates
in this letter and let me know if you have any comments or changes.
Sincerely,
~. S ~~
Ann S.
