iii iiiiiiiiiiiu iii <br />999 <br />Notice of Assessment Conference <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology, Office of Mined Land Reclamation, will hold a public <br />assessment conference on January 31, 1997, at 9:30 a.m. at 2148 Broadway, No. C-5, Grand <br />Junction, Colorado 81503. The request for this conference was received on January 6, 1997, from <br />Western Fuels-Utah, operator of the Deserado Mine, Permit No. C-81-018. The subject of the <br />assessment conference is NOV No. C-96-019, issued by the Division for failure to construct or <br />maintain a sediment pond as designed to treat runoff or inflow. Specifically, sediment pond RP-1 <br />primary spillway structure was leaking, allowing water to discharge without sufficient settling time. <br />Posted 1/17/97 <br />
