Stone, Inc., Permit Amendment 003 Application No',;Tytt~Bl-l01 Division p~reUOr <br />Buster Quarries; Adequacy Review #2 <br />Dear Mr. Buster, <br />Listed below are additional adequacy review comments on the Buster Quarries Permit Amendment <br />Application, Permit Number M-1981-107. The Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) is required <br />to make an approval or denial decision no later than March I5, 2001, therefore, your response [o the <br />following adequacy review concerns should be submitted to the Division as soon as possible. <br />I. The applicant opted to amend [he amendment application with the addition of disturbed acreage in the <br />tertiary area. Please submit the new proof of publication and notification to adjacent surface owners <br />within 200 feet of the affected land. <br />2. The applicant states that topsoil piles will be temporarily seeded. Please specify the seed mixture to <br />be used on the piles, and the method of application. <br />3. The applicant noted minor disturbance within the tertiary area. Please commit to keeping the quarry <br />operations out for drainage ways, channels, steep cliffs or other sensitive areas. <br />4. Please demonstrate the source and existing water rights for the 300-450 gals/day estimated for water <br />use at the site. <br />5. Please be aware that any surface water pumped from the pit may require a NPDES Permit from the <br />Colorado Department of Public Health and the Environment. Please contact that agency for <br />additional information and permitting requirements. <br />6. The applicant noted the seed mixture in pounds acre. The Division requires the seed mixture to be <br />stated in PLS/acre (Pure Live Seed/Acre).
