The Technical Revision would allow
the operator to temporarily store asphalt and concrete materials on the project site. The material would only be
stored prior to crushing and recycling.
The asphalt and concrete material to be stored would be clean, inert, and free from miscellaneous debris. The
asphalt would originate from road work projects, be greater than 60 days old, and be classified as clean fill under
solid waste disposal regulations. Concrete material would be free from rebar, iron mesh, or similar internal
structural support material. It is estimated that no more than 3,000 to 5,000 cubic yards of material would be
stored on site at any one time.
The operator proposes to store the material within the southern portion of the site immediately west of the current
screen plant location. The location is illustrated on the Mine Site Map enclosed. The actual crushing and
processing would take place at the crusher location near the site office. To reduce visual impacts, the proposed
storage site would be shielded by existing trees. Sufficient overburden and topsoil are present on site if, after
operations, the area needs to be reclaimed.
Thank you for your timely review of this request. Please call if you have any questions or need additional
information.
Sincerely,
T~~A~GV/
William Schenderlein
Environmental Engineer
Vv\
V Encls.
5~'~ cc: File #00-209
P Mary Kauffman, Kauffman & Son
11990 Grant St. • Suite 304 • Denver, CO 80233
(303) 452-6611 • Fax (303) 452-2759
5441 Boeing Drive. • Suite 200 • Loveland, CO 80536-8855
(970) 461-9884 • Fax (970) 613-1177
