Cottony
Division Director
Natural Resource Trustee
The Division of Minerals and Geology received a revision for the Bowie No. 2 Mine. The revision was
called complete on Mazch 28, 2005. The decision due date is Apri17, 2005.
In Minor Revision No.53, Bowie Resources, LLC is proposing to drill two geotech drill holes in order to
evaluate the feasibility of mining a third west longwall panel in the B-seam coal. Both drill sites will be
along existing roads so no new roads will be constructed. One drill site is on land owned by the Bowie
Resources and the other site is on land managed by the Bureau of Land Management. The two drill holes
will be reclaimed.
However, because of the immediate need to drill one of the geotech holes, the Division issued a partial
approval for Minor Revision No. 53 on Mazch 28, 2005. The partial approval allows Bowie Resources to
drill the geotech hole that is on land owned by Bowie Resources and is designated as drill hole B-Burn-
24. Bowie Resources will submit another minor revision to obtain drilling permission for the other
geotech drill hole, designated as TC-OS-04, that is on BLM land.
If you have any questions, please contact me.
Sincerely,
se h J.
