Cattany <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, <br />of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on January 7, 2004, an application to revise coal mining operations at the Seneca II-W <br />Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Seneca Coal Company. All review <br />and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br />This revision was submitted to abate Notice of Violation (NOV) CV-2003-015. The revision will allow for modification of <br />certain aspects of the aspen study plan, including the schedule of work and the plot layout. <br />The Surface coal mining operation is on land located approximately 9 miles South of Hayden. The permit area is further <br />described as follows: <br />TSN, R88W; All of Section 15; Portions of Sections 9, 10, 11, 14, 16, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 34, and 35 <br />T6N, R88W; Portions of Sections 14, 23 and 24 <br />T6N, R87W; Portions of Sections 17, ] 8, 19 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Hayden Gulch, Hayden, Dunckley and <br />Mt. Harris. <br />The applicant is required to publish notice in a local newspaper that this applicaton has been deemed complete. At the time of <br />publication of this notice, the applicant is additionally requved to place a copy of this application at the Routt County <br />Courthouse, P.O. Box 773598, Steamboat Springs, CO 80477, and at the Division office. For additional information or to <br />provide written comments, contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room2i5, I313Sherman Street, Denver, <br />Colorado 80203, (303) 866-3567. In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that comments be <br />submitted within fifteen (15) days of this letter.
