This will allows us to contain any fuel spills or tank
failures and still be able to move the fuel storage area as needed
with relatively little expense. At this time we have 6,000 gal of red
diesel, 1000 gal clear diesel and 500 gal of unleaded fuel on the
site. The facility is designed to contain 1258 of the largest con-
tainer that will be within the containment wall plus any foot print of
barrels or tanks stored in the containment area. The clear diesel and
unleaded gas will be removed from the mine once the storage tanks are
empty.
A 6 inch layer of compacted road base will be placed on the
virgin rock to create a floor pad. The wall will then be placed and
compacted to create a sealed containment area. We will build a 15.0
by 34.0 foot area with a 2.0 high wall around it. This will contain
the 6,000 gallon red diesel tank and 22 waste oil storage barrels. In
addition we will have 2 - 550 gallon stock watering tanks that will be
used as temporary portable containment units for storing barrels
outside the main containment area. Attached is a sketch showing the
approximate layout of the facility and containment berm cross section.
The floor will sit on solid rock so there is little change for
petroleum products to reach the groundwater table. This facility will
