Dear Mr. Green:
Pursuant to Title 34, Article 33, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, the
Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice that on January 20,
1995, a technical revision application for a permit to conduct coal mining
operations by Twentymile Coal Company, 29515 Routt County Road No. 27,
Oak Creek, Colorado 80467, was deemed complete for the purposes of filing.
All reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations
promulgated thereunder initiate from this day of filing.

The applicant proposes to revise underground coal mining operations at the
Foidel Creek Mine. The technical revision would allow for the relocation of a
portion of County Road No. 27 and construction of retaining structures to
prevent damage to the road caused by spalling of Sandstone Cliffs located
above the road.
The Foidel Creek Mine is located approximately 23 miles southwest of Steamboat
Springs, Colorado. The area affected by this revision is located in
Sections 29, 30, and 31, Township 5 North, Range 67 West. These tracts of
land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Rattlesnake Butte.
Because the above referenced technical revision application might alter
previously approved permit conditions or mitigation measures, we are
requesting your agency's evaluation of the potential for impacts to cultural
and historic resources, pursuant to the May, 1991, MOU between our agencies. I

In order for us to comply with regulatory time frames, we request that
comments be submitted to Kent Gorham, Division of Minerals and Geology at the
above address by 5:00 p.m. on February 10, 1995. If no comments are received
by this date, we will proceed on the assumption that your agency has no
concerns with or objections to the applicant's proposal.
A copy of the technical revision application is available for public
inspection at the Routt County Courthouse in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
