I would like to go on record as PROTESTING this
amendment.

The State of Colorado cannot allow the destruction of our most
valuable state resource -- the MOUNTAINS; and all of the in-
herent qualities pertaining thereto (ie., wildlife, recreation,
scenery, etc.). It amazes me that this state, which is
theoretically totally dependent upon the mountains as a source
of income, is willing to allow the destruction and mutilation
of that very resource.
I understand the necessity for development and progress -- but
certainly not at the sacrifice of "our" mountains. The recla-
mation proposals are an insult to the citizens of this state
and this country. Progress does not necessarily require destruc-
tion of the landscape. What is it going to take to make BIG
BUSINESS realize that they cannot rape the land in order to make
the almighty buck?
Thank you for your consideration.
~p'ncerely.
i
i
~.
