Cattany <br />Division Director <br />RE: Geotechnical A equacy Review, PR-7, B-Seam Portal Construction, <br />PR-8, B-Seam Mine Plan, Bowie No. 2 Mine, Permit No. C-96-083, <br />Bowie Resources LTD. <br />As we discussed in our meeting on March 10, 2003, I am requesting your assistance in <br />the geotechnical adequacy review of PR-7 and PR-8. Bowie Resources Limited (BRL) <br />wants to open up the B-seam for mining and will need to construct a new facilities bench, <br />two excess fill storage areas, haul road and associated facilities structures. <br />The construction of the facilities complex to support the mining of the B-seam was <br />submitted in PR-7. You already have one copy of PR-7. I have a copy of Volume VII, <br />Geotechnical Studies, and the correspondence for the original pemut application, if you <br />need them again. Please review the geotechnical aspects of the cut and fill operations, <br />new roads and reclamation stability concerns. <br />The B-seam mine plan was submitted in PR-8. You have one copy of the PR-8 submittal. <br />I have akeady given to you the Volume I permit binder and Exhibit 15 of Vollmie III, <br />both of which contain the approved subsidence information for the currently approved <br />mine plan. Please do an adequacy review of the subsidence and geochemical information <br />in the submittal. <br />If you need any additional information, please let me know.
