TR9PPER MINING INC.
iii ~iii~niiiii~iii
999
RECEIVE
October 10, 1991
Mr. Kent Gorham
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
215 Centennial Bldg.
1313 Sherman St.
Denver, CO 80203
OCT 15 1991
Mined Land
Reclamation Division
Dear Kent
This cortespondence summarizes the proposed sedimentation pond construction activities at Tr r Mine
during the 1991 field season. A total of five sediment ponds were proposed for construction or m 'ration
during 1991 of which only two were completed (West Pyeatt Gulch and Johnson Gulch Pond #9). The
completed West Pyeatt and Johnson Gulch #9 pond construction was approved by the Division in technical
revision 51 and 55 respectively. Additional ponds proposed and approved by the Division for construction
included the Deer Gulch (MR10'7), Johnson #10 (TR-55), and Far East Buzzard (CR-57) sedimentation
ponds. These three ponds will not be built or modifications performed during 1991. There are several
reasons these ponds were not conswcted in 1991 and include 1) an extremely productive topsoil replace-
ment field season that took precedence over pond construction; 2) the extent of the disturbance in several
drainages was less than originally Forecast and did not necessitate pond construction; and 3) our long range
mining plan questioned the proposed location of one of the sedimentation ponds (Far East Buz?ard).
Trapper intends to construct the remaining three sediment ponds during the 1992 reclamation field season.
If the loption or design of any of these sediment ponds changes, Trapper will submit all appropriate infor-
matlon to the Division for approval prior to construction activities. If no changes or modifications are nec-
essary, Trapper will initiate wnstruction as early in the field season as is practical.
Kent, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
Sincerely,
William Agnew
Sr. Environmental Engineer
IWCat1RD~ocno(
c EG ]ohriwn
J.M.
