Long <br />Denver, CO 80203 Dinsian Director <br />Re: Coal Ridge No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C-1984-065) <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 4 (RN-4) <br />Dear Ms. Coles: <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, <br />Section 118, Paragraph 3, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on March 5, 2001, an application to renew an <br />existing permit to conduct coal mining operations at the Coal Ridge No. I Mine was considered complete for the <br />purposes of filing. All review and comment periods as provided in the Colorado Surface Mining Reclamation Act <br />and the Rules initiate from this date of filing. <br />NCIG Financial, Inc. proposes to continue underground coal mine reclamation operations on land located <br />approximately 7 miles West of Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />T6S, R91 W; Portions of Sections 1 and ]2 <br />T6S, R90W; Portions of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 15 and I6 <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land aze shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps of Storm King Mountain <br />and New Castle. <br />Approval of the application would extend the permit for reclamation activities to October 9, 2006. <br />A copy of the renewal application is available for public inspection at the Division office (address below). A copy <br />of the renewal application will be available for public inspection, at the time of publication of a public notice of the <br />renewal application in the Glenwood Post, at the Ga~eld County Courthouse, 109 8th St Ste 200, Glenwood <br />Springs, CO 81601. For additional information, to provide written comments, or request an informal conference, <br />contact the Division of Minerals and Geology, Room 215, 1313 Sherman Street, Denver, Colorado 80203, <br />(303) 866-3567, within thirty (30) days after the last (fourth of four) public notice in the Glenwood Post. <br />Sincerely, <br />Byrdn G.
