Based on the conclusions from the analysis, MCC has determined
that it is no longer necessary to maintain silt fence at the Lone Pine underground development
waste pile, topsoil pile, and staging area, as well as the mine water tank site.
The small area demonstration (SAE) for each of the above sites continues to be valid, because it
demonstrates that effluent limitations for sediment can be met during aworst-case scenario (i.e.
bare soil). These areas now have sufficient vegetation to more effectively control sediment, as
discussed in the report. MCC has revised the drawings, which are enclosed, contained with the
SAE's to eliminate the silt fence. The report should be added to the SAE section of Exhibit 66.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
'~ ~ L ~
~ ~~~~"~j bL~LV~t% LJ
Christine E.
