Besides completing all the
requirements set by statute and regulation, Castle Concrete
sent pre-notices on March 13 and 14 to a number of parties
which we thought would be interested as a result of their
previous involvement in quarry permit changes. These
notices predated the MLRB dates far notification.
Although only six parties would have actually been required
to be notified, 24 parties were notified in accordance with
the MLRB rules. These parties were notified because of
previous expressed interest.
The publication itself contained considerably more
information than is required by the MLRB rules and the law.
On April 22, 1989, a tour was provided to the interested
public and included Marcy Morrison, one of the E1 Paso
County Commissioners. The tour gave a number of people the
opportunity to examine the quarry first hand and to look at
the amendment area up close.
Several more public review copies of the application were
made available to interested parties. All of these copies
were checked out and reviewed by various people. Of course
there was also the copy available at the County Clerk's
office.
