Following is a summary of the
major field changes to the project.
1. The coal loadout silo and downhill conveyor will not be constructed at this time.
2. The haul road from old state highway 133 to the portal bench will be paved.
3. Guard rail will be installed along the haul road.
4. The portal bench and coal stockpile bench were combined into a single bench.
5. A reclaim system, crusher and screening building and radial stackers will handle
the coal on the portal bench. Coal will be loaded with front end loaders.
6. Coal will be transported by truck from the portal bench to the coal loadout silos.
7. Certain changes in the configuration of the drainage plan will be required as a
result of the above changes.
The DMG was not very concerned about changes to the coal handling facilities since
the scope of the coal handling facilities was reduced which should result in a reduction
in the required reclamation bond.
The DMG requested that BRL submit a map of the single portal bench so it can be
compared to the permitted portal bench and coal stockpile bench. Enclosed are new
Map Nos. Vll-2-N and V11-2A. Map No. VII-2-N presents the as-constructed benches
and can be compared directly with Map No. VII-2 presented in Volume VII, Tab 6. Map
No. VII-2A presents the section views A-A and B-B of the permitted and as-constructed
benches. These two section views are discussed in Volume VII, Tab 3.
