The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources Limited. The right of
entry to the federal coal has been obtained through the approved Iron Point Tract Federal Coal Lease COC-61209. About
904,000 tones of private coal and 286,000 tons of federal coal are involved in this revision. No new surface disturbance would
occur, although subsidence of the surface will take place with longwall mining.
The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 5 miles northeast of Paonia, Colorado.. The permit
area is further described as follows:
Portions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 14, I5, and 16, Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M.
The above-mentioned trace of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Bowie.
The applicant is requred to publish notice in a local newspaper that this application has been deemed complete.
