The OSM's concurrence included a stipulation that the Division of Minerals and Geology identify those areas excluded from the 1987 Phase I bond release. The Division has prepared an addendum to the 1992 Phase II Bond release findings addressing this matter. The addendum clarifies the remaining reclamation tasks at the Meeker Mines, specifically including the 0.2 acre area of minor earth movement at the Northern No. 1 Mine site. There has been some question by OSM personnel regarding a second slide area which was perhaps excluded from the Phase I bond release. This area is not specifically mentioned in the bond release document. The Division's July 14, 1987 bond release inspection report does mention a second slide area at the Northern Mine area. An August, 1987 inspection report indicates that repair work had been completed in this area within a month following the Phase I release. This area is no longer visible, and its location is unknown. It is therefore not identified in the enclosed addendum. I believe this addendum sufficiently addresses OSM's remaining concern with this bond release. If so, please forward OSM's final concurrence to our office as soon as practical.
