Box zooz AUG X91999 <br />Buena Vista, Colorado 81z11 <br />~~iv~~~on of Mine2b 8 Geo~cg~ <br />RE: 110 to 112 Conversion Application for <br />Buena Vista Pit, Permit No. M-77-196 <br />Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members, <br />III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII ~~ <br />s <br />Inc. <br />Hard Rock Paving &Redi-Mix, Inc. is currently in the review process for an <br />existing mining operation in Chaffee County, north of Buena Vista. <br />• August 16, 1999, Monday -Chaffee County Workshop -Objectors presented <br />petitions and letters of objection to Chaffee County commissioners regarding <br />Buena Vista Pit. <br />August 17, 1999, Tuesday -Chaffee County Commissioners Meeting - Letter of <br />zoning clarification to DMG was discussed in order to modify the reclamation plan <br />for Salida Main Pit. <br />• August 18, 1999, Wednesday -Buena Vista Planning and Zoning Meeting - <br />Objectors presented concerns to the board as a recommending entity to the <br />Chaffee County commissioners. <br />We inadvertently learned about the Chaffee County Commissioners' meeting <br />from the county administrator's secretary when requesting a legible copy of a faxed <br />document on the morning of August 1~`h. We thank Mr. Hale, Chaffee County <br />Administrator, for leaving a message at our corporate office late Monday afternoon <br />regarding that same meeting. After the commissioners' meeting on Tuesday, we <br />met with Mr. Hale to discuss the Buena Vista application. He mentioned the Town of <br />Buena Vista Planning and Zoning meeting to be held the following evening, <br />Wednesday, August 18"' <br />In <br />neighbors <br />cooperate <br />the needs <br />attend the <br />keeping with company policy, we make every attempt to be good <br />We are more than willing to listen to our neighbors' concerns and <br />in resolving issues.
