Pursuant to this document we have ceased
mining operations at all locations referred to in this order.
We should note that contrary to your findings of fact we are not
now nor have ever operated in the Caldwell Pit. We are also not
in violation at the Craig Pit, for at the time we formally
operated at that location this pit was designated by the
Colorado Department of Highways for work on one of their contracts.
Our interest in these two pits at this time is in attempting
to get permits in order to perform future work at these sites.
On June 3, 1977, we submitted applications for six locations
in Moffat County. An initial review by your staff on that date
indicated that all the preliminary required items were in order.
A tentative date of June 15, 1977, was set for a board meeting
considering our applications.
A review of our records indicate an additional three old abandoned
pits in Montezuma County that were used exclusively on Colorado
Department of Highway projects probably fall under your
requirements. Applications and submittal data is presently being
prepared for review by your staff on June 8, 1977. It is anticipated
that this will be in order for inclusion for consideration at the
June 15, 1977, board meeting.
"AN E0 ~.4L OPPORTONITY EOIPLOYER"
