Long <br />Division Director <br />Re: Proposed Decision <br />Permit Renewal Application No. 4 (RN-4) <br />Keenesburg Strip Mine (Permit No. C-1981-028) <br />Dear Weld County Commissioners: <br />This letter is to inform you that the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology is proposing to Approve a renewal <br />application for a coal mining and reclamation permit. The application was submitted by Coors Energy Company <br />on April 27, 2001, for the Keenesburg Strip Mine. <br />Any person with an interest which may be adversely affected by the proposed decision may request a formal <br />hearing before the Mined Land Reclamation Board within 30 days of the first publication of this notice by the <br />Division in Tl:e South Weld Sun. <br />The surface mine is located approximately 7 miles north of Keenesburg, Colorado. The permit area is further <br />described as follows: <br />All or portions of Sections 2 and 11, T2N, R64W; and Sections 25 and 36, T3N, R64W; 6th Prime Meridian. <br />Copies of the renewal application are available for public review in the Division offices at the above address and at <br />the Weld County Clerk and Recorders Office.
