Do you know what happened to that process? Did it fall through
or is it just not yet completed?
Dave
-----Original Message-----
From: Williams, Joanna
Sent: Monday, April 21, 2003 1:37 PM
To: Nettles, David; Hall, Jim; Stahl, Bob
Cc: Oehler, Larry; Wolfe, Dick
Subject: M & G pi[, DMG no. M-86-079
Good Afternoon,
Larry Oehler with DMG spoke to me on Friday regarding the Dunes Pit and M&G Pit located in Sections 2 and 3,
Township 2 South, Range 67 West. The current owner of the M&G pit, Pollyanna Mann, spoke to DMG regarding the
effect on her pond due to dewatering of the Dunes Pit. Apparently the dewatering is lowering her water surface. I
don't believe the she has filed a formal complaint but DMG was attempting to resolve the issue. In looking into this
situation, the M&G Pit does not have a valid SSP and our last approval required that they file for an augmentation plan
by August 1, 2002. It does not appear that this application has been filed.
It seems that the M&G pit should come in to compliance prior to addressing the issue of the water surface lowering.
Actually, if the M&G pit is not providing replacements, it would be beneficial that the lake surface is lowered.
I just wanted to fill you in on this situation, in case you get inquires. Plus this looks like a potential enforcement issue.
Thanks
Joanna
