This plan is being submitted for DMG review and
approval consistent with reclamation provisions contained in the
Kerr Permit Application Document (Re: Pages 780-83aa, 780-83bb, and
816-155).
On June 20, 1995, C. J. Mucklow, Routt County Extension
Director, Colorado State University, made the following
recommendations for grazing in 1995:
1. Graze in summer (early August) after the
grasses have matured.
2. Increase stocking rate to 180 AUM's (to
facilitate the nearby existing cow herd).
3. Graze all the animal units in the shortest
amount of time practical, thus graze 180 cows
for approximately 14 days.
The Kerr Mine has received much moisture this spring and
we propose to implement grazing per the above recommendations.
The area and acreage to be grazed will be the same as
approved for previous years. An excerpt of the Kerr 1994
Reclamation Map (previously submitted) depicting the grazing area
is enclosed.
c:\xrnocs\cruz9s-s 1
