Long <br />Division Dueaor <br />Paonia, Colorado 81428 <br />RE: Citizen Complaint, Bowie No. 2 Mine, Permit No. C-96-083, Bowie Resources Ltd. <br />Dear Mr. Frazier: <br />As a result of the Division's investigation of your complaint letter of July 21, 1997, concerning <br />the effects of blasting from the Bowie No. 2 Mine, the Division has issued Notice of Violation <br />CV-97-013 to Bowie Resources Limited. The Notice of Violation was issued for failure to <br />provide proper blasting notification and for failure to keep proper blasting records. Attached is <br />the cover letter and the Notice of Violation that had been sent to the mine operator. Currently, the <br />mine operator is working to provide proper blasting notification and record keeping, as <br />abatement for this Notice of Violation. <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology will continue to place special emphasis on the <br />blasting effects issue and the dust pollution issue in our monthly field inspections of that mine <br />site.
