We had submitted and been approved for several extension requests on this site to
give us time for some anticipated changes on the site, that will yet occur, but had not as
of almost a year since the amendment had been submitted. Time was running out for us
to complete our responses to the adequacy review, or potentially start all over again.
Berhan Keffelew took over for Kathleen Sullivan, as the DMG specialist on this site, late
last year, replacing Kathleen. Berhan helped convince me to complete the adequacy
review prior to June 16'", rather than to attempt to ask the Board for a further extension.
Ms. Sullivan's comments were pretty extensive and in many instances, seemingly overly
analytical, but we got through them. Berhan_also made sure that his review and approval
of the responses to the adequacy review was timely, so that we could complete this
amendment. There will be another change to this permit site in the very near future, but
we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.
Please convey my appreciation to Berhan for pushing me to wmplete the adequacy
review and to help get the amendment approved in such a timely manner. It was really
appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rob Laird-
Land Manager
