5/9/04
To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Sharon Jefferson and my husband, David, and I have lived on Tiger Road for
22 years. We know quite a bit about the impact of rock trucks ott the neighborhood here,
as there haven't been any happenings on Tiger Road that haven't gone right by the front
of our home. We have struggled with the many businesses that have sought to use the
road in front of us for massive projects including a rock crushing plant that was proposed
several years ago. Fortunately those groups of people were members of our community
and when they saw the angry reactions of their neighbors about their ideas for profits at
our expense, they abandoned the idea. We realize that L.G. Everest has a right to get to
their rock piles and over the past few years have run an amount of trucks that we can
tolerate, but our concern is that they want more trucks up and down an already over
burdened road, lined with nice homes, bicyclers, baby strollers, golfers, backpackers from
the Colorado Trail, children playing, wildlife and people hoping for a decent life while
living by this road.
Many people like us invested their lives in homes here long before there was an
interest in the rock piles. While at one time no one thought we'd run out of rock piles
that didn't impact housing azeas; that time has come. If there could be thought given to
those of us raising our families who are in L.G. Everest's way, and see that a limited
amount oftruck traffic is best for a wmpromise, we could then be better neighbors and
turn away until the trucks have past. Also this is not the only operation of rock hauling
proposed on this road and if a free hand is offered here now, how do you say "no" to the
next group and how ugly would a fight between opposing groups be at that point.. We
sincerely hope you can see both sides of this issue and; down the road, help bring some
vision to this and other plans that might azise. Thank you for accepting our comments
and hopefully they help you to understand how impacting your decisions are on many
people, today and many tomorrow's to come.
~"~.,., ~ Nom(
RECEIVEb
~~~~
MAY 11 2004 `~
pryer 01 M'mersls & G6d9pY
~~
vv1
