III IIIIIIIIIIIII III .. ~~r <br />999 <br />Public Notice <br />The Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology proposes to approve a partial bond release for the <br />Raton Creek Mine. The Raton Creek Mine, permit number C-82-055, is permitted to Energy Fuels <br />Mining Company. A 57 percent release of the liability bond was requested by Energy Fuels Mining <br />Company on December 27, 1994, for completion of backfilling, regrading and drainage control in <br />accordance with the approved reclamation plan for the mine site. The Division of Minerals and <br />Geology proposes to approve to release the reclamation liability associated with backfilling and <br />grading the Portal No. 1 and Portal No. 2 areas, regrading of the coal waste bank, and construction <br />of drainage control structwes. Several slope segments have been excluded from this decision. <br />The Raton Creek Mine is located approximately three miles south of Trinidad, Colorado, adjacent to <br />County Road 69.3, near the historic town site of Stazkville. The area to be considered for partial <br />bond release is located within Township 33 South, Range 63 West, SW'/. of Section 36, of the <br />6th Principal Meridian. The mine site is located on the U.S. Geological Survey 7.5 minute <br />Quadrangle map entitled "Trinidad East." <br />Copies of the proposed decision aze available for review at the Colorado Division of Minerals and <br />Geology, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver; Colorado 80203, and at the Las Animas County <br />Courthouse in Trinidad, Colorado. Any person with a valid legal interest which might be adversely <br />affected by the proposed decision, or any responsible officer or head of any federal, state or local <br />government agency which has jwisdiction by law or special expertise with respect to any <br />environmental, social or economic impact involved in the operation, or is authorized to develop and <br />enforce environmental standards with respect to such operations, may request an adjudicatory <br />hearing. The request for the adjudicatory hearing must be made in writing within 30 days of the <br />first publication of this notice, and must state with specificity the reasons why the hearing is being <br />requested. <br />
