Final Bond Release has been requested for 477.4 acres at the Mine 2 area of Permit
C-81-071. The application was submitted on September 5, 1997. Due to omissions in the
public notice the Division found the application incomplete on September 12, 1997. Upon
corrections to the public notice and Colorado Yampa Coal Company's commitment to
republish the corrected notice, the Division determined the corrections to the public notice to
be adequacy concerns and deemed the application complete on September 17, 1997. The
inspection has been scheduled to be conducted on October 14, 1997, at 11:30 a.m.
The Surface ownership of the affected lands is private. The mineral rights of the coal mined
were both private and federal. A copy of the bond release application is available for review at
the Division's Denver office.
Please contact me if you have any questions, need additional information, or would like to
accompany the inspection.
Sincerely,
aria[ H. inns-J ~ '~""'
Environm ntal Prote ~ n Specialist
