It, as required by Rule 3.03.2(5)(a) of the Rules and Regulations, <br />is to inform you that the Division of Minerals and Geology has issued a proposed decision to <br />approve Bond Release Application No. 2 for the Colowyo Coal Mine. This application, titled 1997 <br />Phase I Bond Release, 1987-1995 Reclaimed Areas, is for release of reclamation liability for <br />reclamation work accomplished only, not a return of bond monies. The work accomplished was <br />backfilling, grading, establishing of drainage, and placing of topsoil over 712.1 acres of ground <br />disturbed during mining activities. This decision will be published in the Craig Daily Press as soon <br />as possible. Publication of the notice initiates a thirty (30) day public comment period. If, within <br />thirty days, there are no requests for an adjudicatory hearing, the decision will become final, at <br />which time you will be notified. <br />A bond for operations at the Colowyo Coal Mine is a surety issued by your company (Bond Number <br />14-95-66), in the amount of $16,723.
