In most cases, an explanation of the comment is all that is necessary. However <br />in some cases, new information is necessary for the permit document. This information is presented as revised <br />materials in the attached Technical Revision. Our responses are numbered in the same sequence as your letter. <br />SURFACE WATER <br />1. No response necessary. <br />2. No response necessary. <br />3. No response necessary. <br />4. The reference to 'informally monitor' in the Forest Service (USFS) agreement refers to the understanding <br />that Mountain Coal Company (MCC) will conduct the monitoring, however, data is not directly reported <br />to the USFS. Page 2.OSfi4 of the permit document has been revised to clarify the agreement with USFS <br />concerning monitoring of water resources. Monitoring will be conducted on resources which are within <br />the projected impact area of shallow cover (less than 300/350 feel). USFS resource 131 lies in m area <br />where there is approximately 800 feet of cover and no impact is expected from mining. The wne of <br />impact is defined in MCC's permit document within the sections dealing with 'Subsidence as it Relates to <br />Hydrology'. <br />5. No response necessary. <br />6. No response necessary. <br />7. Any furore mechanical malfunctions in the monitoring program will be documented in the AHR. <br />8. The overlay of the workings will be updated in each AHR. <br />9.
