Roadway
conditions underground from the portal to the mine sump have
degraded to the point where vehicular transport is n^ longer
possible. This prevented us From easily replacing the pump
motor.
H decision was made to manuallu iwith the aid of a come-
s-long) pull the pump and starter to an elevation above expected
high water level and to cease de-watering the mine. Ihis has
been done.
Inasmuch as the ^ump has not been operated, and no water
has been discharged from the mine since Mau 1988 there has been
no reason for anyone to ao underground since then. I was last
underground at the Hnex No.2 in May 1988.
In light of the above, we hereby respectFullu request
permission to suspend the requirement for an annual mine inflow
study until we resume de-waterino the Aoex #2 Mine.
c
Your,~ru-ice ,
J Id ~
David R.
