MANAGEMENT
The DMG's letter dated June 22, 1998, informed Bowie the referenced technical revision was
incomplete because cultural and historic information required by Rule 2.04.4(1) was not
included with the application. In order to address this rule, a file search was made through the
Preservation Office of the Colorado Historical Society for the following described area:
Township 13 South. Range 91 West 6'" P.M.
Sections: 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 14, 15, 16
The results of the file search are enclosed. Three sites were located in the designated area.
The three sites were recorded in Section 15 and were the historic company town and two
isolated finds. The historic company town is extensively documented in permit Volume VI
Cultural Resources. The isolated finds were considered field not eligible.
Based on the file survey, there are no cultural or historic resources listed or eligible for listing
on the National Register of Historic Places or significant known archaeological sites within the
area to be affected by probable subsidence over the life of the mine.
Enclosed is a new table of contents for Volume VI Cultural Resources to incorporate the file
search into the permit application.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~~~-
J.
