Long <br />Division Director <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, <br />Pamgrnph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on May 29, 1997, an application [o revise coal mining operations <br />at the Trapper Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Trapper <br />Mining Inc.. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of <br />filing. <br />TR-77 involves the construction of a new sediment control pond and two collection ditches in the West Flume Gulch. <br />The holding capacity of the sediment pond is designed to be 2.28 acre-feet. The discharge structure would be a single <br />open channel spillway. <br />The surface coal mining operntion is on land located approximately 6 miles SW of Craig, Colorndo. The permit area <br />is further described as follows: <br />Portions of Sections 1, 2, and 3, Township 5 North, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 30 and 31, Township 6th North, Range 90 West of the 6th P.M. <br />Portions of Sections 25, 26, 28, 33, 34, 35, and 36, Township 6 North, Range 9] West of the 6th P.M. <br />The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map of Castor Gulch. <br />W Victory Way, Craig, CO 81625, and at the Division office.
