Peirnit C-81-013 was issued <br />by the Division on June 22,1994. <br />The Golden Eagle Mine is located N Sections 20, 21, 28 & 29t, T335, R67W. A total of 59 acres of surface <br />disturbance from mining is covered by a Coal Reclamation Bond in the amount of $1,530,000. The <br />permihee is applying for and Division guidelines allow for the release of up to 60% of the total bond <br />amount N a Phase 1 Bond release. <br />The Golden Eagle Mine ceased production on December 3 ], 1995. [n accordance with the approved <br />t reclamation plan and as required for phase one bond release, sealing of the mine shafts was completed by <br />May 1996; removal of surface facilities, foundations and footers b}' November 1996; and rough and final <br />grading, returning the surface to approximate original contour, and establishment of drainage channels and <br />controls by January ]997. <br />Any written comments, objections or requests for a public hearing or informal conference regarding this <br />bond release application must be submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology, 1313 Sherman Street <br />Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203 by August 30, 1997. <br />Sincerely, <br />~M~J~`(~~,,,,r-- <br />Ronald G.
