A certification to the Division stating that the
old 3-Dam Seepwater pump station is operational is included with this letter. The Division
requested this certification in the 11/14/00-inspection report received from you.
The above mentioned inspection report asks for affirmation that both pumps are installed and in
working order at the 3-Dam pump station. Per our phone call this week, I clarified that only one
pump was rebuildable and reinstalled at the pump station. wth this pump in place, the 3-Dam
pump station can fimction as an interim environmental protection facility (EPF). Adequate
storage capacity does exist in the 3-Dam seepwater collection ponds to facilitate procuring and
installing a 2°d pump if necessary.
Please call if you have any questions or are in need of any further information. I can be reached at
(303) 569-3221 ext. 2214.
Very wly yours,

Erich Bower
Environmental Engineer
Climax Molybdenum Company
Enclosure
Cc: Mike Ley -Climax
Rich Wagner -Climax
Dave Long -Climax
