December tssa Domestic Return Receipt <br />Via Certified Mail P 194 728 190 <br />This letter is [o notify you, as an adjacent landowner, [hat Basin Resources, Inc., 14,300 Highway 12, <br />Weston Colorado 81091, the operator of Golden Eagle Mine Permit number C-81-O13, is filing for Phase <br />I Bond release with the Stale of Colorado, Division of Minerals and Geology. Permit C-81-O13 was issued <br />by the Division on June 22,1994. <br />r <br />T'he Golden Eagle Mine is located in Sections 20, 21, 23 & 29, T335, R67W. A total of 59 acres of surface <br />disturbance from mining is covered by a Coal Reclamation Bond in the amount of $1,530,000. The <br />petmittee is applying for and Division guidelines allow for the release of up to 60% of the total bond <br />amount in a Phase I Bond release. <br />The Golden Eagle Mine ceased production on December 31, 1995. In accordance with the approved <br />r reclamation plan and as required for phase one bond release, sealing of the mine shafts was completed by <br />May 1996; removal of surface facilities, foundations and footers by November 1996; and rough and final <br />grading, returning the surface to approximate original contour, and establishment of drainage channels and <br />controls by January 1997. <br />Any written comments, objections or requests for a public hearing or informal conference regarding [his <br />bond release application must be submitted to the Division of Minerals and Geology, 13 ] 3 Sherman Street <br />Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203 by August 30, 1997. <br />Sin rely, <br />~~~ ~~~ <br />Ronald G.
