Box 670 <br />Hayden, Colorado 81639 <br />RE: Seneca II-W Mine, Permit C-82-057 <br />MR-54 Adegacy Response <br />Dear Mr. Shevling: <br />The Division received today your August 8, 2003 response letter to our July 21, 2003 <br />review letter regarding MR-54, Permit Area Exploration Drilling. <br />Adequacy Item 1 requested "sediment control details and documentation to demonstrate <br />that the drainage from the drill sites will meet the effluent limitations of 4.05.2, both during <br />drilling and following reclamation." The response submittal included adequate design <br />information and documentation to demonstrate compliance with applicable effluent limits <br />during the operational phase. No specific documentation was provided to demonstrate that <br />applicable effluent limits (e.g. settleable solids limit of 0.5 ml/q would be met upon <br />reclamation grading and topsoiling of the sites, based on soil roughening treatments and/or <br />silt fencing. <br />Please provide appropriate sediment modeling to demonstrate that the 0.5 ml/I settleable <br />solids limit will be achieved for the reclaimed drill pad sites. <br />Adequacy Item 2 response clarified that the topsoil stockpile in question has not yet been <br />constructed. As such, the adequacy concern is not applicable. item resolved. <br />Please provide the requested information at your earliest convenience.
