iii iiiiiiiiuiiiiii

NOTICE OF PROPOSED DECISION
Pursuant to the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Board published August, 1980 and pursuant to the Colorado Surface Coal Mining
Reclamation Act 34-33-101 et seq., the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation
Division proposes to approve a Technical Revision to the Coal Ridge No. 1
Permit Application (File No. C-84-065) submitted by New Castle Energy
Corporation, 9137 East Mineral Circle, Englewood, Colorado 80112, phone (303)
984-3113. The mine is located approximately 1.5 miles east of New Castle,
Colorado, adjacent to County Road 335.
The revision involves expansion of the mine portal benches utilizing waste
rock from the tunnel development. The bench expansions will be topsoiled and
revegetated, and will remain for the life of the mine. This fill material
will be removed and the area reclaimed during final reclamation of the mine
site. Although this revision represents a disturbance of less than two acres,
the operator is still within the maximum allowable disturbance approved in the
mining permit.
Copies of the revision are on file at the Garfield County Clerk and Recorder's
Office and the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division, 1313 Sherman St.,
Room 423, Denver, Colorado 80203, phone (303)866-3567.
Any written comments, objections or requests for informal conference on this
revision may be submitted to the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division at
the above address within 10 days of publication of this notice.
~I.sl.:.~ S;
~• I i 6 /'
~~
r
