• • III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board
723 Centennial Building
1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Gentlemen;
J~,i~ '7cS
The Fountain Sand and Gravel Company and the Lawrence Construction
Company have reached a joint understanding whereby the Open Mining
Permit No. 21 for the sand and gravel mine in Section 29, Township
6 South, Range 68 West, Douglas County, Colorado, better known as
the Lawrence Mine, will be transferred in a successor of opera-
tions transaction from The Fountain Sand and Gravel Company to the
Lawrence Construction Company effective as soon as approval can be
obtained from the Mined Land Reclamation Board under Rule 1.7,
"Permit Transfers", of the Rules and Regulations of the Colorado
Mined Reclamation Board.
As a part of our understanding, the Lawrence Construction Company
will assume all land stabilization and reclamation work which is
required for the aforementioned mine for all past disturbances
through the initiation of a Land Stabilization and Reclamation
Agreement. Furthermore, the Lawrence Construction Company will
furnish the Mined Land Reclamation Board a performance bond in
the amount of $31,500, which is equal to the one previously furn-
ished by The Fountain Sand and Gravel Company, to insure that the
work required in the Land Stabilization Agreement will be accomp-
lished.
We would appreciate your diligence in seeing that this transfer
can take place on a timely basis in order that the successor, the
Lawrence Construction Company, can initiate operations within a
reasonable length of time and the performance bond of The Fountain
Sand and Gravel Company can be released and cancelled.
Sincerely,
i'
A. P. Sweeney/~Preside t
TheJ~ta~/~ ~ Gravel Company
E. R. Lawrence, President
Lawrence Construction Company
