NT NMENT PiI~N NISTORI'~ In the three years proceeding the effective date of the Edna •Y Mine's NPDES permit pC0-0032638 there hasq't been spillage of any mater•i~9s used, stored or processed by the mine that might have a visible ar other. wise detectable impact on the waters of the State of Colorado. In the event of a spill that will affect water quality the on,6hift foreman will notify the Mine Superintendent, the mine's ,Reclamation Depart- ment, and the mine's Safety Officer. These people will then contact the State Water Quality Control Division, the Environmental Prot$ction Agency, down stream water users and local health officials. All parties concerned will be notified as soon as possible. Facilities at the Edna Mine have been designed, installed and con- structed, or are being modified, so as to minimize the potential of spills and/or unplanned discharges. Bulk gasoline and diesel fuel tanks are located 'z mile from Oak Creek and l~ miles from Trout Creek. These tanks are all buried underground. The mine's oil storage dock is also located approximately %z mile from Oak Creek and 1= miles from Trout Creek. Motor oil, grease, hy- draulic oil, paints, thinners and solvepts are stored in this area in drums and containers no larger than 55 gallons. Should a minor spill occur in this area it would be contained by berms which would route runoff through straw bale filters located at the discharge points for this small area. These filter systems ara periodically inspected and maintained. Stoker oil is stored in bulk in the tipple area. This oil could represent a potential spill problem to Oak Creek. Currently mine per-
