Since that time the
vegetation on the reclaimed mine site has flourished. The Division
of Minerals and Geology has determined the sediment pond is no
longer necessary for sediment control and has in fact approved
sediment pond removal based upon; 1) a 1992 vegetation study of the
reclaimed mine site and; 2) an empirical demonstration that
untreated drainage from the reclaimed area does not contribute
additional suspended solids above natural conditions.
Based upon the above information, Minrec hereby requests the
referenced permit be de-activated.
Please call if you have any questions.
Sin erely,
~~~
Jim Stover, P.E.
Consulting Engineer
\1lP60\RCI/\CDOR1
