In completing my certification, I have
conducted an inspection of the D-Portal Sediment Control Pond and
construction site.
:'he dam inspection showed no problems concerning cracking, erosion,
rodent activity, or displacements in th.e following areas; upstream
face, downstream face, and the crest. No seepage was located on
any of the dam areas. The outlet conduit caas in good shape and no
leakage was noted. Tt,e emergency spillway showed ro signs of
deterioration or eroaion and the riprap was i.n good conditi~~rl. No
effluent quality could be noted at inspection. time, since the pond
was not discharging at the outlet.
The top soil pile for this area has been seeded and shows.stabla
vegetation growth. Removal and stock piling of all .organic
material and topsoil prior to water impounding has been completed.
Deserado Mine
P.O.
