Box 333
Lyons, Colorado 80540
Re: Possible unpermitted stone quarry - Masonville, Larimer County
Dear Mr, Loukonen:
On December 4, 1985 I inspected several unpermitted stone quarries along C.R.
27, south of Masonville (Larimer County). Your shop and quarry area just
south of Masonville were briefly inspected on the same day. At that time, Mr.
Jackson indicated that your quarry was not and is not an active quarry. It
has come to our attention that, in fact your quarry has produced stone since
the laws requiring permits were enacted. Furthermore, it is our understanding
that mining has occurred as recently as this summer.
Please know that if mining has occurred since 1973 and/or if you intend to
quarry any more stone, a valid mining and reclamation permit is required as
per C.R.S. 34-32 - 109 (7}. I encourage you to obtain a proper permit prior
to our next inspection. Please notify this Division of your intentions no
later than January 20, 1985.
i elY I i
~ i
I Dav' d Be ry , ~~~~
L Reclamation Specialist
~.
