Watcher
Executive Director
Ronald W. Cottony
Acting Division Director
The Division has reviewed Trapper Mining Inc.'s Fourth Quarter 2002 Colorado Wastewater Dischazge
Monitoring reports. TMI's fourth quarter 2002 DMRs were received by the Division, on January 30,
2003. Timely submittal of these reports is in compliance with Rule 4.05.13(2)(a)(iii)
Only two outfalls discharged during fourth quarter 2002; Outfall OOland Outfall 002. WET tests were
conducted for those two outfalls with no exceedences reported. An exceedance for Outfa11002 was
reported for TSS. TMI indicates that the discharge was a result of snowmelt and the alternate daily
maximum limitation should be applied. The Division does not have a reply from the Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment regazding the application of these altemate limitations.
Please forwazd a copy of CDPH&E response to the Division once you receive their reply. TMI provided
precipitation and temperature records with the DMR forms to document weather conditions on the site.
Thank you for the timely submittal of these reports.
Cc: Dan Hernandez, DMG
C:/jhb/C81010/DMR's/4th Q 2002.doc
