~ iii iiiiiiiiiiiii iii ~ <br />b <br />April 10, 1981 <br />Mr. Neil Sprague <br />Berthoud Pink Stone Company <br />Route 2 - Box 99A <br />132 Sprague Lane <br />Berthoud, Colorado 80513 <br />RE: Sprague - Red Lyons Sandstone Quarry <br />Our File I181-57 <br />Dear Mr. Sprague: <br />In order to consider this application adequate for the April 22nd-23rd, 1981 <br />meeting of the Mined Land Reclamation Board, the following items must be <br />addressed in detail: <br />A <br />B <br />Exhibit B - Mining Plan <br />1) Please specify that whenever possible, slopes will be <br />graded not steeper than 2:1 (2 horziontal: 1 vertical). <br />Rock quarry walls can be left steeper but in a stable <br />condition. <br />2) Prior to disturbing areas previously undisturbed, the <br />upper 4-6 inches of topsoil, mineral fines and rubble <br />(overburden should be stockpiled for later replacement. <br />Exhibit H - Reclamation Costs <br />1) Reclamation costs must be adjusted to reflect what it <br />would actually cost the state to accomplish the recla- <br />mation in the event an operator was unable to do so. <br />Our figures show that it would cost the state no less than <br />$880.00, broken down as follows: <br />Grass Seed - 24 pounds/acre at $1.00/lb. _ $120. <br />Trees - 30 potted ponderosa pine 17. <br />30 potted Rocky Mt. Juniper 17. <br />Fertilizer - $10.00/acre 50. <br />Grading and related caterpillar work <br />3 hours/acre 675. <br />$45/hour <br />Total $879. <br />
