Long
Division Dueclor
Re: Request to change the mining phase sequence for Permit Number M-92-074 (Ranch Gravel
Mine #2)
Dear Mr. Hekkers
The Division has reviewed your fetter requesting a change in the mining phase sequence to
permit number M-92-074, Ranch Gravel Mine#2. The current approved reclamation plan has six
phases. Colorado Springs Utilities is requesting to mine phases 4 and 5 before phases 3 and 6,
this sequence would allow the operator, to effectively control storm water. The Division
approves the change in mining sequence as requested in your letter of November 20, 1998. Since
the permittee is a Government Agency, no financial warranty was posted and non was required.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact me.
Sincerely,
~~a~VWV.(K.JI~ ~~~
Berhanmaskal Keffelew v VV
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: James Stevens
