CO 80203
RE: M99008, Table Mountain Quarry, Fremont County, CO
sent a letter of objection to the Division dated March 10, 1999. I expressed several concems regarding
[his proposed operation, especially the issue of blasting and proximity to residential wells. I have been
asked to send afollow-up letter withdrawing my objections.
I attended an evening meeting of the Fremont County Planning Commission on April 6, 1999. At that time
1 mentioned my specific concern regarding water wells in [he area, and was assured by a representative of
Castle Concrete that the nature of the rocky material is such that blasts will not travel any great distances
and will be localized in the blasting area.
Whether or not this turns out to be [rue, only time will tell, however based on this information provided at
[he meeting, 1 will withdraw my objection, but please be aware that 1 still have concerns which may or
may not be borne out. Unfortunately, we will not really know if there are effects on water wells until after
the blasting has commenced.
Thank you for taking the time to contact me and request follow-up comments. I hope that I will not regret
having withdrawn my objections.
Sid Darden
~~-
c.
