Blake
Deputy Commissioner
Colo. Bureau of Mines
Dept, of Natural Resources
1845 Sherman St.
Denver, Colo. 80203
Dear Mr. Blake:
The purpose of this letter is to bring you up to date on the
mining plan for our Morrison Quarry,
In January 1972 we retained Mr. James M, Link, Director of
Research, Mining Division, Colorado School of Mines Research
Institute, to assist us in developing a long range mining plan
including the monitoring of dust and shock waves. This plan is
complete as to the final configuration and limits of the quarry,
but still requires additional work regarding the mining methods
and equipment to be used, We have just completed a 1" = 100'
scale model of 300 acres of the property as it was when we
started operations, and are in the process of building another
identical model with removable sections so that the mining
process can be shown in stages from start to finish, This model
will be completed by June 1, 1972,
We have also retained the Thorne Ecological Institute to conduct
an Ecological Impact Study and Rehabilitation Plan covering
wildlife, scenics, water flow and quality, vegetation and
stabilization.
We will have our plan submitted to your office by June 15, 1972
and will update the plan as the various studies and reports are
completed and submitted to us.
Very truly yours,
C~OO~LiE~YJGRAVEL COMPANY
~/i /
W.
