Box 5728
Pueblo, Colorado 81002
Dear Mike:
As we discussed on the phone, I am submitting the application form for a mine sediment pond
for a small operation near Trinidad that has closed down and has been reclaimed and the surface
owner would like to retain the original mine pond for a stock pond. It is located above a small
dry drainage and only collects the runoff from the reclaimed area and small amount of
undisturbed area totaling approximately 23 acres. The State of Colorado Division of Minerals
and Geology wants assurances that the pond will not infringe on anyone's downstream water
rights. Since the principal spillway pipe is low in the pond, providing a detention area of only 1-
2 acre-feet, I don't believe that there should be a problem. Let me know if you need any
additional information.
Please send reply copy to me at the address above.
Sincerely,
E~Q~~
C~.
Greg Lewtcki, P.
