I have received this application and have the following questions,
comments and suggestions which must be addressed in detail prior to
the October 28-29, 1981, meeting, of the Mined Land Declamation Board.
A. Exhibit E -.Reclamation Plan
1. Please describe the attitude and density of the predominant
joint structures that are found in the bedrock being mined.
2. Please describe in detail all proposed benchin;;, including the
slope and width of benches and the vertical distance between
benches. A cross; section of the proposed Cinal quarry high
wall would be helpful.
3. What other techniques will be utili•red to insure that the
resultant vertical rock face will. be left in n stable condition?
4. After 12" of topsoil is placed over the nCf:ected areas, the ~
operator should not compact the soil to 90% relative density.
Prior to seeding, the operator should harrow the site to prepare
a proper seedbed.
5. Is the operator plamTing to irT.-if;ate the seeded areas, as rec-
ommended by the Soil. Conservation Service?
6. In order to improve Che site adjacent to St. Vrnin Creek for
wildlife, the staff recommends that rt variety oC the Eollowin,
tree and shrub seedlings he randomly planted:
cottonwood
American P]um
golden current
chockecherry
hiountain Mahogany
The seedlings could be obtained from the Colorado State Forest
Service Nursery in Fort Collins.
